CrossFit is Constantly Varied, Functional Movements, performed at High Intensity. Expect a general warm up and stretching, ample instruction, a short intense workout, and a brief cool down. The workouts are programmed for you. We make sure everyone understands how to scale and load the movements. Our athletes just show up, follow instructions and work hard. We do all the thinking!

Harvest Basics

HARVEST CROSSFIT KIDS

Monday and Wednesday Nights// 5:00-5:30

or

Tuesday and Thursday Nights// 4:00-4:30

The main purpose of HCF Kids is plain and simply to get kids excited about movement, exercise, and CrossFit. We provide a positive, can't fail*, and fun experience for kids to develop elite fitness where they

  • develop lifelong healthy habits
  • prevent injuries in life and youth sports
  • dominate youth sports

Our HCF Kids class is currently open to 7-10 year olds and has a maximum of 8 students (currently 4). As interest grows, we'll have more HCF Kids options, so please let us know your interest and schedule.

"First mechanics and then consistency, then and only then, intensity."

We train CrossFit to children as developmentally appropriate to the individual. For example, In the picture to the left, this boy is holding light dumbbells to introduce a load, but only after he'd been training HCF Kids for over a month learning safe and efficient mechanics. The girl, performing a jumping ring pullup also has been able to perform good and safe hanging mechanics.

In every half hour session, we focus on: impact loading (jumping, bounding, and falling) vital for lifelong bone density// basic tumbling (crawling, squatting, rolling, handstands, cartwheels) important for vestibular development// and a foundational movement (squats, deadlifts, presses) unloaded until very proficient. After learning the skills for the day, we'll do a short and fun workout, and followed by an awesome game!

*"can't fail atmosphere" does not mean that 'everyone gets a trophy' or 'participation points'. We only use positive coaching cues that kids respond well to. "You're doing it wrong!" isn't helpful coaching and can serve to ruin the HCF kids experience. "This is how to do it correctly!" is effective coaching that all athletes respond to.

Personal Training

Do you have some unique challenges or prefer one-on-one attention? We offer personal training to members looking to learn more about a specific area of training or non-members wanting a more private environment. Small group sessions are also available.
