CrossFitters everywhere make a big deal about this workout. Sure it is challenging, but not necessarily for any reason other than people want to do well- some wear their best time like a badge- and so they push really hard. On one occasion, I wasn't able to beat my PR and it totally bummed me out, which is stupid because it's just a workout! Yah so CrossFitters make a big deal about it, and that's ok because it's ours. If someone was squatting heavy, they're just squatting, not exclusively CrossFit. Thrusters and pull-ups though... You can't even begin to pretend that thrusters and pull-ups would exist together without CrossFit.
