After Adam and Eve ate the fruit, the first thing they notice is that they're naked. Imagine that, the first humans, Gods greatest creation made perfect, guaranteed they both have like smokin' hot bods strutting around Eden like their own living room, and all of a sudden they're like completely mortified that someone is gonna see them naked. Adam has no one even to compare  himself to, yet he was probably like, "Man I wish my shoulders were a little broader." Eve, "Oh gosh, I can't believe I weigh as much as Adam." You might think its just a silly Bible story, but its a reality we live with now. Goals are great to have, but I don't know that there is a pinnacle or ending point on our quest for a body we can be completely happy about. If you were to talk to the person whose body you admire most, they'd tell you, "I don't like my this." or "I'm not really happy with my that." And you're like, "Are you kidding me? I'd kill to look like you!" So that's where we're at. We all want to look better, but especially for you ladies, it's such a moving target.

You just can't quantify a "look", but there are certainly healthy ranges for things like body fat percentage, lean body mass, blood pressure, bone density, hormone levels and so on and so on. I do think that a lot of you are truly interested in your health and longevity, so there's no use in getting frustrated over not having something that ultimately won't satisfy anyway. We don't need mirrors at HCF because you have a coach and you don't need mirrors because we should be concerned with the numbers rather than any certain look. We don't have mirrors at HCF because you don't need that kind of pressure.

What happens when you're already happy with yourself as a human is you come to the gym because you enjoy moving and sweating and learning new things. Even a little contentment allows you the freedom to just come and be here, hang out with your friends, pick up some heavy stuff, blow off some steam, compete or not compete. And if you do that a lot, good things happen, really good things.

CrossFit is such that all we do in programming is strive to increase your work capacity across broad time and modal domains. Make you more everything, stronger, faster, etc. And a cool thing happens. All those numbers that have to do with health and longevity go in a positive direction. All of them. And lets be honest, nobody ever looks or feels worse with improved work capacity! Unfortunately, increased work capacity never makes you a cooler person though...
