No teens Thursday morning this week. Back to it on Friday.

Outreach// Right now, we coach the tip of the spear of Dallas and Oregon. There is a disparaging gap between even our newest athletes and the average American. It is likely that when you step into Safeway, you're the fittest person in there. That is really cool, but at the same time it breaks our hearts. You've all done a great job bringing the people you love and nudging your friends who you really think would be changed by CrossFit. Keep it up! Sure we will welcome any new athlete, and studs like you just end up here on your own, but to put it bluntly, we want to train more really un-fit people. Is that even ok to say? I think in America's current state of chronic disease and obesity, I hope that's ok to say. Its not meant to be offensive, but yah, we are serving the fit percentage of Dallas very well and we suck at getting or retaining the people who are actually sick.

I don't know what that looks like. We're not marketing types. So what do you think? We are open to ideas on reaching out to the people who you are already thinking about how much CrossFit might save their lives. Does it look like a special program? You’ve already heard every excuse in the book from your friends, but there is some deeper obstacles to tackle, and we all could figure out how to break through to our loved ones.

Teens// The teens have been training in their own class 4 days a week for 9 months now. In an adult class, there is a great mix of fitness levels and experience so I’ve never seen a group develop together from square one like the teens. They’ve gone from wobbly baby giraffes to freaking terminators! Summer is fast approaching and I’m open to schedule suggestions. That doesn’t necessarily mean the schedule will definitely change though.

Kids// Once upon a time, we split the kids class because of high enrollment. I would like to go back to offering HCF kids twice a week. What is your vote? Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs?

Website// We just gave the website a little facelift. The main changes you’ll see are simply that the blog and workouts are posted on the “article” page. You can also search the blog for old posts using the search bar on the page.

New coaches// You most likely already know the new faces at the whiteboard explaining the workouts and reminding you to press you knees out. The athletes we’ve asked to join our coaching team are professional, have great rapport with everyone already and have become students of fitness! Mac and I have found that the process of preparing a new coach for service is really beneficial to our own coaching skills. Coaching is great practice on its own, but teaching coaching develops a whole new level of our competency.

Teens & Kids// No teens or kids May 30-June 12. I’ll be in Cambodia
